Perfect Day -- Cross-stitch

So. This is a fairly small cross-stitch, done for a few different reasons:
-- to use up materials
-- to test out perforated plastic, a new medium for me
-- to keep me awake during classes

The original pattern was listed in browns with no outline -- part of a Valentine card dealio, something about chocolate and whatnot. I didn't like their browns and I was wishing for a perfect day (which, by my standards, translates to grey skies, lots of wind, a touch of chill, and drizzle), so I opted for muted blues instead.

I like the even stitches and solid medium of perforated plastic, and I quite liked the finished piece. I was, however, terribly annoyed with the difficulties of weaving in loose ends, and will probably not use perforated plastic in the future unless I again end up with a scrap piece.

Sent to my brother in the Windy City, as both a housewarming gift (he just moved) and a laugh (he was drenched repeatedly during the move.. and it's the Windy City).
