Apparently I like the letter 'S' today. In keeping with the theme then, this will be short.

I actually have a summer job. This is only of potential interest because my shifts start at four in the morning. So, if you're ever wondering why I don't seem to be following my usual online availability schedule, it's because I'm going to bed at 6pm and getting up at 2am. Also, it's only two days in and I seem to have gotten myself the nickname "Cat Woman".

Incidentally, I only got one day to transition from bed at midnight, up at eight to the current dealio, so I'm a bit tired. Falling asleep while it's still perfectly light out goes against every summer habit I've ever had. Whee! I'm getting there, though. I should be good to go by the end of next week.

If I vanish from chat or the like between last week and September, chances are I've lost power. Summer storms -- be they simply wind or of the more wet and noisy thunder variety -- tend to knock out power lines around these parts sometimes, for hours or even days at a time. (Case in point, I lost power yesterday at 3pm due to wind and didn't get it back until sometime this morning, while I was at work. Plus a half-hour blip at 3pm today.)

Finally, stupid people are stupid. And irksome. This is a general remark and not specifically directed at anyone in particular, but hey -- if you want to get offended, I've no desire to stop you. It'll just serve nicely to prove my point. It will also amuse me.
